An On-going Project

I am increasingly interested in the colour, atmosphere and changing qualities of landscape. This recent ongoing body of work developed from observations made during visits to Florence, Pisa and Bologna, where I became particularly interested in the burnt sienna tones of the architecture, the olive greens of the surrounding countryside and the relationship between buildings and their wider landscape.

Aerial views from flights between Scotland and Italy further shifted her perspective, revealing the contrast and continuity between rural and urban environments. These observations have informed her current experimentation with diluted acrylic paint, colour, composition and atmosphere.
